Jacquard Weaving

Jacquard weaving, 2023. Banner constructed with cotton, polyester and acryl threads. The weaving has been built up by multiple layers, where in the middle layer the colours of the threads form the image of a written text. The design anticipates the interaction and friction with the wind: the vulnerability of the cotton threads in the upper layer invite them to be moved or dissolve and reveal the letters underneath. From March to June 2023 the weaving has been waving in the wind at the MIAT, Industrie Museum Ghent.
