Postuur van een Korte Prins.
Juli 2024. De Korte Prins, Amsterdam.

Performative work in collaboration with Cecile Hübner. ‘Postuur van een korte prins’ is an interactive performance about the architecture of the building of De Korte Prins, where both Cecile and my studio are located. The work is a theatrical search for the history of the building and how the human body relates to its architecture. We searched for ways to respond to the way it has been constructed as well as changed through time. We conceptualised that we were interested in the informal architecture of De Korte Prins, such as eroded wholes in or stains on walls and the large amount of notes of neighbours. There were many elements involved in a continuos conversation that we aimed to catch and share with others. The artists and makers that inhabit the building have been integrated in the story we wrote and performed. During the performance the audience is asked to relate their body to certain elements of the building via the sculptures we made. The sculptures out of papier maché refer to aspects in the buildings architecture and have been made to fit specific bodyparts on one side and an eroded element of the building on the other.
